November 20th 2015
Lyndhurst NJ – Ciel Power LLC, a leading provider of residential energy audits and energy-efficient home retrofits announced today that, in collaboration with Ceres, the U.S. Green Building Council, and the Carbon Leadership Forum, it has joined industry partners in the launch of the Building and Real Estate Climate Declaration campaign.
As Paris readies for the COP21 International Climate Talks, building and real estate companies including Ciel Power LLC are joining together to urge policymakers to seize the economic, societal, and environmental opportunity of tackling climate change. Led by Ceres, businesses around the United States have embraced a clear statement for climate action by our government.
The Building and Real Estate Climate Declaration is a companion to Ceres' Climate Declaration launched in 2013 which has more than 1660 signatories nationwide including iconic brands such as Gap Inc., General Mills, Disney, Apple, and Starbucks.
The building and real estate sector firms have signed their own Building and Real Estate Climate Declaration to call attention to the specific risks and opportunities associated with climate change on the built sector industry, which is a major economic driver in the United States and produces 39 percent of carbon emissions annually.
The Building and Real Estate Climate Declaration was recognized before thousands of industry leaders and experts at the closing plenary of the annual Greenbuild International Conference and Expo taking place in Washington D.C. this week.
Scott Fischer, Managing Member of Ciel Power LLC says, “By joining our peers in support of the Building and Real Estate Climate Declaration, we hope to send a strong message to world leaders gathering in Paris later this month in support of taking aggressive action to seize this unique opportunity to fight climate change.”
“Our firm works daily to educate our clients about these important issues, and to lessen the environmental impact of existing residential construction on our communities by installing today's energy-efficiency standards into yesterday's homes.” said Scott. “Our goal is to practice sustainable business practices at every level of our organization, deliver a more sustainable living environment to our customers, and to advance sustainable practices in the communities we serve.”
In addition to pledging its commitment to the Building and Real Estate Climate Declaration, earlier this year, Ciel Power LLC joined the New Jersey Sustainable Business Registry, part of a larger joint initiative between the New Jersey Small Business Development Center and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
Ciel Power LLC invites others in the building and real estate sector to show their support by signing the Building and Real Estate Climate Declaration.
